Rathnam, Ravi Krishna made his feature film debut in director Selvaraghavans critically acclaimed Tamil romantic drama ∗G Rainbow Colony, in the year 2004. The film, which also met commercial success, brought Ravi the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut - South at the Filmfare Awards South. It was simultaneously dubbed and released in Telugu language, titled ∗G Brindavan Colony. Ravi Krishna was born on Main Mumbai, Maharashtra, to noted Tamil and Telugu Cinema film maker A. Post schooling, Ravi Krishna went to London where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia.
He later completed his diploma in Interactive Communication at Pentamedia, while also concentrating on his career in multimedia with non-linear film editing at Sam Media. He has revealed that he never intended to become an actor, but was "roped in" when he visited India for Easter.
